How can I sale jewelry for a reasonable price in which I haven’t gotten appraisal papers for?

I have inherited a watch and necklace which is worth a few dollars. But I cant afford to pay and get the pieces apprasied, therefore how can I get decent money for my pieces of jewelery when I decide to sale. Where should I take the pieces. An aution?

You really need to get them appraised. How do you know if youre sitting on something worth a lot if you dont know what you have? I would save the money and get it appraised. Most places I know of wont charge a big fee if any.

  3. Have you ever see antiques road show? Get them appraised! You could be sitting on a gold mine, and wouldn’t know it! Do not sell them to the appraiser. I have heard many stories of folks getting low appraisals and then selling the stuff to the person who gave them the appraisal, only to discover later, that the appraiser mislead them. If you want to save some money, you could try taking the jewelry around to several pawn shops to see what they are willing to pay for it. Make sure you get several estimates though. Good luck.
