For Sale! My 1972 Mustang Grande…restored!
I bought this car in April of 2005, and it had just under 28,000 miles on the odometer. First thing I had done was an overhaul of the brake system with new calipers and pads, and silicone brake fluid. At that point I got 5 new tires (one a spare) and those great American Racing Wheels! Since then, I have had it repainted vista blue with graphite trim, (modern Ford colors), new bumpers, grille, upholstery, carpeting, door panels, windshield and repair of a leaky cowl accomplished by cutting into the firewall and fabricating parts! The A/C compressor and condenser were replaced. Speakers were installed in the parcel shelf in the rear, and an AM/FM radio replaced the original AM unit. All new weatherstripping on this car too! Now the car has 31XXX miles on it…btw..it’s a Cleveland 351 with 2 barrel carb, 3 speed automatic, and twin exhausts I had installed. Let me know via comment if you’re interested! Best offer over $15,000…U.S. Thanks!

Hey, Mick! Thanks…I chose those colors because they went so well together, and it would be no problem color matching if the need should arise! Windows did come out as the originals in the door were replaced..I repainted the interior of the trunk..that is my handiwork. The inner panels of the hood were a flat black in this car…Chrysler products usually painted them body color. The chrome inside sure makes it a car of the 70’s! Thanks!

That looks really …
That looks really nice with the blue and the chrome. Such a shame it is up for sale after the work that has gone into it. I’m intrigued by the modern shade of blue, it looks so good and I thought it was original. How far did the repaint go – was it a windows and and engine out job? Did I see silver on the wheel tubs in the trunk? Inner panels under the hood look black – most cars here were always body coloured. I used to be facinated by vehicle refinishing – can you tell? Love the chrome inside.

Very nice car. Even though I’m mainly a GM fan I always had an appreciation for Mustangs.
I said it before and I’ll say it again. There are 4 hall of fame vehicles. Porsche 911,Chevrolet Corvette,GMC/Chevrolet Suburban and the Ford Mustang.

Hey, Howie! Yeah. …
Hey, Howie! Yeah…Ford definitely did not have a better idea with regard to instrument lighting in these cars. The long tunnels you peer through before you see the instrument faces certainly didn’t help. It was an attempt at an “organic” panel, I feel…not just another instrument face on a dash. So I would give it a D minus..nice look but poor function. Thanks…I do get lost in detail sometimes!

Hey Jack! Well …
Hey Jack! Well SOME station wagons were a little lame but there are others…well. I agree with the old lighting on some of these cars, it is so hard to read, due to poor contrast, the electrolum. lighting really helps. I hope you end up keeping the car in the end. The attention to your detail is outstanding to say the least.

Well Jack – nothing original to say here – just adding moral support to what others have said. A beautiful, beautiful car and sad, sad circumstances…

Jack
National Parts Depot has those electroluminescent faces in a kit that requires taking the instrument cluster out and installing the new faces over the existing gauges. The kit is then wired to 12 volts to give either a blue or green tint to the faces..you have your choice. Works like a charm…but be careful of the flexible printed circuit behind the cluster. Thanks!
