As a car salesman, what cars should I sale? Ford, Checy, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda etc.?
I used to sale cars and didnt do too bad but not topo good either. I sold for Chevy, and and only 1 or 2 people did exceptionaly well, I personally believe, chevy just doesnt sale. I am thinking of going back into car sales, anyone have any advice on which is the best to sale? And if yout in the San Diego area, knowof any good honest dealerships to sale from?

Go with the company that offers the best compensation package. Chevrolet sales are just as high as Toyota so don’t blame the car for not being able to close the sale.
High volume sales are a lot more competitive and thus harder to reach your sales numbers. You might try a car that has lower sales but better commission rates.

Do your research and find out which manufacturer has the best sales record and increase in sales over the last three years. Then look at the projections for that manufacturer for the next three years.
When you have that information review the manufacturer’s customer satisfaction index (CSI) to see how pleased the customers are in their ownership experience.
Finally, get the CSI for sales and service from any dealership you are considering. The key point is this; you will work the same number of hours at whichever dealership you choose. Working for the best will give you greater peace of mind and more money, and clearly a better opportunity for short and long term success.
Also, at a dealership that interests you, talk to the salespeople, talk to the manager, and ask for sale stats and earnings for the salespeople, find out how long salespeople have been employed at the dealership, are they happy? If not, why not? What do they like about their store? Dislike? You have a right to know this information. If they will not share at least a general picture of that with you don’t work for them.
With gas prices the way they are I expect that all vehicles that get great fuel mileage will be hi-profit vehicles and earn a better comission for you.
Whatever you do, do it well. Consider that salespeople that have been in the business 10 years are averaging what the begonners average. Why? Lack of customer follow-up before and after the sale. Personal contact works and is money in the bank, now and in the future.

Most of your high volume dealerships, Toyota, Honda, Chevy, Ford, etc. are going to have a ton of sales people on the floor, to compensate for the heavier foot traffic, compared to your highline dealerships, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, etc. are going to have fewer sales people as a result of the lighter foot traffic. My only experience has been in the highline side, and personally, I loved it. You don’t have sales people fighting for every single up, and the environment is usually more professional, and the quality of service is usually higher.
If I had to go back today into car sales, I would definitely seek out a highline dealership that I believe in. Selling a product you whole heartedly believe in makes the sale process much easier, and much more believeable in the eyes of the customer. And if you can find a management team who shares your same ethics, then you should be good to go…=)
